Skin Shop is a British skincare company that makes specialist, naturally derived skincare for problem-prone skin. We create focused ranges for specific concerns, from rosacea and eczema to psoriasis, acne, cold sores, joint and muscle care and intimate skin, developed with a dermatologist and made in Britain. We believe that skin, like people, is unique, and that skin which reacts to ordinary products deserves something made for it.
Skin Shop set out to make specialist, naturally derived and genuinely effective skincare for problem-prone skin. Most of our customers come to us after ordinary products have let their skin down, so everything we make is designed around a specific concern and formulated to be gentle, naturally active and kind to sensitive skin, rather than harsh or stripping.
Our story
We began Skin Shop because we felt there were not enough naturally derived options for people with specific, ongoing skin conditions. We started with a single product for dry, itchy skin, and grew from there. The products worked, and word spread, first through customers and then through the press, so the company grew organically rather than through advertising.
Over the years we have built a family of specialist ranges, each created as a solution to a particular concern, and we have developed them alongside dermatologist Dr Eva Melegh, who has worked with us for over 20 years. Today our products are used by customers across the UK and internationally, and are backed by more than 7,000 verified reviews, but the approach has not changed: naturally derived, dermatologically tested skincare, made in Britain, for skin that needs something different.

Made in Britain, trusted by customers worldwide
Despite growing over the years, we still source and produce all of our products in Britain, and we now have many European and international customers as well as UK ones. Recognition and research
We are proud that our products have been recognised beyond our own customers. The LipQ Liquorice Balm was tested in a double-blind, placebo-controlled study carried out with the Herpes Viruses Association. Above all, our products are backed by more than 7,000 verified customer reviews, with an average rating of 4.8 out of 5.
About Skin Shop: frequently asked questions
1. Is Skin Shop a British company, and where are the products made?
Yes. Skin Shop is a British company, and all of our products are sourced and produced in Britain. Our products are dermatologically tested for sensitive skin.
2. What does Skin Shop make?
Skin Shop makes specialist, naturally derived skincare for problem-prone skin. We have seven brands, each created for a specific concern: KALME for rosacea and redness, Clarol for oily and acne-prone skin, Hydrosil for dry and eczema-prone skin, PSOregon for scaly and psoriasis-prone skin, LipQ for cold sore-prone lips, Actimas for joint and muscle care, and In2mate for intimate skincare.
3. Are Skin Shop products cruelty-free and vegan?
None of our products are tested on animals, and most of our range is vegan. A few products are vegetarian rather than vegan, because they contain ingredients such as beeswax, honey or donkey milk. Each product page states clearly whether it is vegan or vegetarian.
4. Are Skin Shop products developed with a dermatologist?
Yes. Our ranges are developed and reviewed with Dr Eva Melegh, a dermatologist specialising in sensitive and reactive skin conditions, who has worked with us for over 20 years.
5. Can Skin Shop products treat or cure skin conditions?
Our products are naturally derived skincare designed to support, soothe and comfort problem-prone skin, not medicines. They do not cure conditions such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis or cold sores. If you have a skin condition, it is worth seeing a GP or dermatologist, and our skincare can be used alongside any treatment they recommend.
6. How do I choose the right range for my skin?
The easiest way is to shop by concern. Our condition pages explain each concern and the range we recommend for it, covering red and reactive skin, oily and acne-prone skin, dry and eczema-prone skin, scaly and psoriasis-prone skin, cold sore-prone lips, joint and muscle care, and intimate skincare.
7. Are Skin Shop products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our products are made for problem-prone and sensitive skin, are dermatologically tested, and are free from added fragrance and many of the harsh ingredients found in conventional skincare. As with any product, we recommend a patch test before first use.
