Product overview
Product overview
Hydrosil Dry Eye Concealer is a tinted, hydrating concealer for the under-eye area and the eyelids. Like the Dry Eye Gel, it is named for the skin it is made for, not the eye itself. It covers dryness, redness and dark shadows around the eyes and looks after the skin while it does so. Unlike an ordinary concealer, it is made specifically for dry, sensitive and reactive skin.
The skin around the eyes can look red, shadowed or tired for several different reasons. Some people have eczema-prone or reactive skin that leaves the eyelids and under-eye area dry and red-looking. Others notice it around the menopause, when the skin can become drier and more fragile, or find their eyes react to make-up, hayfever, seasonal allergies or the weather. Many have tried ordinary concealers and given up, because they sting, drag, dry out or cake on skin that is already dry, and tend to make it look worse rather than better.
At its heart is Cardiospermum halicacabum, a plant-based ingredient traditionally used to calm irritated-feeling skin, alongside a skin prebiotic that helps support the skin's barrier and glycerin to draw in and hold moisture. A fair-to-medium mineral tint covers redness and dark shadows, and light-reflecting minerals brighten the under-eye area. The coverage is light and buildable rather than heavy, so it still looks like skin, and because the formula is hydrating it sits smoothly without caking or settling into fine lines, even on dry skin. It is gentle enough for the most sensitive, reactive skin and does not sting, and it works as a primer under make-up and eyeshadow.
It is vegetarian, steroid-free and free from parabens, SLS and MI, with no added perfume, and it is dermatologically tested for sensitive skin. To use it, apply a few small dots under the eye and blend them in with a clean fingertip, on its own or over the Dry Eye Gel once the gel has sunk in. It is made for everyday use.
Many customers tell us it is the first concealer in years that does not irritate their eyes, and that it covers redness and shadows while leaving the skin feeling comfortable rather than tight or dry. The coverage is natural and buildable rather than full, and it comes in one fair-to-medium shade, so it suits light to medium skin tones best. As with any product for sensitive skin, it is best to patch test first.
